Hello families, This week students were thrilled to discover some special new guests in our classroom—mystery eggs waiting to hatch! We investigated different oviparous (egg-laying) animals and predicted what animal may be inside. Each pair of grade 1/2 classes received a different set of eggs.

Hello families, This week we began working on a collaborative art project for an upcoming MAPPS fundraiser. Each class at LBS, along with our sister Montessori schools, is contributing a unique piece that will be auctioned off during Captain John Palliser’s Peace Night on April 24th. Our class is using this project as a way to wrap up our exploration of the prairies in social studies. Students visited the Kainai Plant Index website to research and select 1–2 plants to feature on their individual Jenga tiles. I’m looking forward to seeing how their designs come together! For more details about the MAPPS Peace Night and how to attend, please check the end of my blog.
