Hello families, Here is what we got up to this week: In mathematics, we continued our exploration of fractions. Students demonstrated their understanding through a "Pizza Parlour Project," where they applied their learning by creating pizzas and using different toppings. They also created a fraction legend to explain the fractional parts of their pizzas, showcasing their understanding in a fun and creative way.

Thank you to everyone who sent in pigment supplies. As part of our exploration of ethnobotany, the students had a wonderful time experimenting, creating, and discovering how plants and other natural materials have been used to make colours throughout history.

Hello families, Here is what we got up to this week: Butterfly Art! Coffee filters, Mr. Sketch markers, eye droppers with water, and a whole lot of creativity.  Students painted their pinch pots from the Leighton Art Centre field trip. These came home on Friday for parents day. We hope you enjoy their hard work!   In mathematics our focus was on fact fluency and standard algorithm (stacking). This strategy is always taught last as it is the most efficient and reinforces the deeper strategies students have learned earlier in the year.  When parents ask me what they can work on at home with their child in math, I always suggest fact fluency. It is quick, easy and supports your child's understanding  as they move through their school years! In Science/Literacy students continued to work on their B is for Butterfly non-fiction pamphlets.   During buddies students shared the non-fiction texts they have created/are working on in their class. It is pretty cool to see h...
