Hello families, This week we started with celebrating Earth Day which was on Saturday April 22. We watched a beautiful video about Earth, as well as one describing how we can help make it a better place. Students then created a sketchbook page illustrating the things they love about Earth.

Hello families,  This week in Science  we delved into the prototype and testing part of the design thinking process. As students began testing and adjusting their prototypes, many  realized that they needed to add stabilizing features so the load (gluestick) didn't fall off!  We were also so lucky to have a parent build a wooden boat model for each student in our class!  The class  discussed how the elastic band creates tension, which then causes the boat propeller to move the boat when released. The class loved seeing the boats move in the water all by themselves!   * While  we used acrylic paint, I would suggest adding a clear coat on your child's boat before putting them in the water*

Hello families, This week we welcomed each other back to school with a sharing circle. It was nice to see everyone's smiling faces return to school! In writing we started a new writing workshop inspired by the book,  What's in Your Pocket?  by Heather Montgomery.   After reading the book, we headed outside to sketch-note some of the things students may collect in their own pockets.
