Hello families , This week we jumped back into our school routines and spent some time sharing about our Winter break through a sharing circle and writing. We also reviewed "sky, grass, ground" letters and practiced our writing stamina. Some students practiced copying a paragraph, while others used a picture prompt to create their own. In math we finished up the final step of the T-Shirt Problem. This included learning about the terms "addend", "sum", and "operation" as well as the math strategies doubles, and repeated addition. As we continue to learn mathematical vocabulary, it will be added to our "math trees" in our classroom. Students then completed multiple computations to find their sub totals, and then a final sum, representing their final answer in a sentence with a dollar unit.
