Hello families,
Here is what we got up to this week:
In mathematics, we continued our exploration of fractions. Students demonstrated their understanding through a "Pizza Parlour Project," where they applied their learning by creating pizzas and using different toppings. They also created a fraction legend to explain the fractional parts of their pizzas, showcasing their understanding in a fun and creative way.
Fact fluency practice through math minutes, fact families, and lots of new math games!
In gym we have been playing field games in between rainy days. Capture the flag is a class favourite.
We began practicing Reader’s Theatre, focusing on reading accuracy, fluency, and expression.
Words Their Way in word work.
In writing, students reviewed the items Elmer packed in his backpack in My Father’s Dragon and discussed how each item was used throughout the novel. They then brainstormed and wrote about what they would pack for their own journey to Wild Island, explaining how each item would help them on their adventure.
