Hello families,
Here is what we got up to this week:
Our Up in the Garden and Down in the Dirt art turned out great!
Students completed one last reflection of their plant growth. Plants were sent home on Thursday.
We caught a chrysalis in action. A chrysalis wiggles or shakes primarily as a natural defense mechanism to deter potential predators, often triggered by being touched or disturbed.
In mathematics students completed a May calendar and began learning about number bonds, which incorporate addition and subtraction into fact families.
In literacy students shared and received feedback from each other and then planned their stories using their character/setting designs as a guide. We discussed that every story needs a problem and a solution.
Students practiced reading decodable texts featuring e vowel teams. Through these tasks, students continued developing their decoding, fluency, and comprehension skills while building accuracy and understanding of a variety of texts.
Buddy Time!

Hats on For Mental Health Day
Our team will be celebrating “Parent’s Day” on June 1st to recognize all the diverse families in our school. This means we will not be completing separate activities for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day and one for Parents Day. Students will still have an opportunity to create Mother’s Day and Father’s Day cards as a Responsible Work Choices if they choose. We are looking forward to celebrating all of the wonderful parents and guardians on June 1st! 😊
