Hello families,
It was a jam packed week. Here is what we got up to:
Our Mad Science presentation was awesome. Students did a great job being respectful and using their scientific thinking skills for the activities.

The chrysalises hatched! Students recorded their observations and we started our "B is for Butterfly" scientific pamphlet pages.
Starting of some butterfly art.
On Friday, we released the butterflies. Students were excited to watch them spread their wings and fly away after observing their incredible transformation throughout the life cycle. It was a special and memorable experience for the whole class, and many students were able to hold them to say goodbye.
Picnic and Play
In mathematics students continued reviewing the addition and subtraction strategies and we completed an assessment.
Assessments will be coming home soon for you to look over, sign, and return to school. I will send out an email when they come home.
In Gym we completed the last week of our dance unit.

In literacy we finished up publishing our final copies of our fairytales. They turned out so great.
We also took part a school wide free-write. Studies applied their understanding of fictional stories and descriptive language to create some great pieces.
