March 6th, 2026

Hello families,

It was a beautiful day for our field trip on Wednesday. The kids loved learning from the biofacts and exploring signs of animals at the bird sanctuary. Thank you to those who volunteered their time to join us.

March Calendar

We completed a math assessment for representing numbers, then began learning about representing addition and subtraction. First, we explored the different parts of an equation and what each part means. Then we practiced showing addition and subtraction using pictures.

Tea Time Tuesday

Students reflected in their sketchbooks about the Seventh Sacred Teaching. Next, we will move into a writing workshop where students will write about the teaching that resonates most with them.

We had a visit from author David Bouchard last Thursday. He wrote many of the Indigenous books we have read in our classroom! Students created a reflection page about his presentation. The flute playing was a big highlight.

In literacy we wrapped up our final copies of our snowman writing.
