Hello families,

This week students wrapped up their Geese information pamphlets, showcasing all they’ve learned throughout this inquiry. They researched key facts, organized their ideas, and added creative touches to make their pamphlets both informative and engaging. Great work Room 8!

Students enjoyed free writing time, using picture prompts or their own drawings as inspiration.

Parts of speech practice using the Montessori grammar symbols for nouns, adjectives, and verbs.

We reviewed the differences between fiction and non-fiction texts, and worked together as a class to complete story maps, helping us better understand story structure and key elements.

In our Wild Robot novel study, we’re getting close to the end of the story! Students have been deeply engaged with the characters and themes, and we’re looking forward to seeing how it all wraps up.

Evergreen Theatre visited our school to teach students about energy in Alberta through a performance inspired by Alice in Wonderland. It was a very fun experience!

Students were introduced to Reader’s Theatre and spent time practicing their scripts both independently and collaboratively in groups.

In math, we continued exploring 2D and 3D shapes and completed our final calendars of the school year.

In math, we also learned how to code the Dash and Dot robots, programming them to create different sounds, movements, and light patterns.

It was the last Tea Time Tuesday of the year! Mugs were sent home with your child. We enjoyed the cozy moments and connections shared throughout these times.

For the Volunteer Tea, students displayed artwork to show their appreciation. Thank you volunteers for all that you do! If you were able to join us on Friday, we hope you had a great time.

Here’s a quick photo update on Brightbill at his farm—he’s doing well and continuing to grow!
