Hello families,

This week we took to the field to collect leaves of a variety of colors. Students then sorted, graphed, and answered comprehension questions about their data. We also made "leaf creatures" and will be doing some writing about them next week!

In fact fluency we have been working on "before and after numbers", and skip counting on a number line and a hundreds chart. We counted by 2s, 3s, 5s, 10s, 20s, and 25s based on students' just right level. Here is the Interactive Hundreds Chart we use every morning to practice!

We also learned a math game called "100s Scramble". Students who were ready for a challenged used a 500 or 1000s chart.

In Health and Wellness we continued to discuss boundaries, how we can set them, and how boundaries may change depending on the people in our lives. Students created a "Relationship Circle" to highlight their different relationships. We look forward to sharing our learning with you during our assembly on Thursday afternoon!

In Literacy we reviewed the letters G,B, and E. Each grade also completed a spelling check-in for short vowels.

In Daily L.A. I introduced the read with teacher station. We worked on word families, and magic E words depending on the group's literacy level.

In art we learned the difference between warm and cool colors. Students incorporated these using oil pastels into a rough draft of our Art Cards. Art Cards are a school fundraiser LBS takes part it in every year around winter time. Stay tuned for our final copies!

On Friday we went on our walking field trip with Ms Midgley's class. We read the book Giving Thanks and then students sketch noted the things that they are thankful for in nature.

We extended this learning by starting to create "thankful pies". I have loved seeing all the things students are grateful for in their lives.
