Hello families,
This week we celebrated Dot Day on Monday and completed some dot pattern art!
Within fact fluency, we learned the game Make Ten. This can be played with a partner or independently. For those who needed a challenge they "made 15". Try it out at home for extra practice!
In literacy we used the UFLI mats to create words when reviewing the letters p,f, and i. We also talked about how we use lowercase letters for all writing other than special times such as names and the beginning of sentences. Grade 2 students further began including questions into their sentences to add variety.
On Friday we had our Terry Fox assembly. The run has been rescheduled to Monday due to the rain! We have been working on our running stamina during gym time especially for this event. We also created a sketchbook page with a concrete (shape) poem using words that describe Terry Fox.
In Physical Education we have been playing cooperative games to support our listening skills and good sportsmanship.
Reading to self or with a partner during Daily L.A.
