Hello families,

This week we "visited" Saskatoon and wrote postcards to a friend or a loved one. They turned out great!

We also took part in a free write! Students who finished early edited their writing using their personal dictionary, "Words Words Words book", and shared their story with a partner.

In Word Work we started learning about prefixes and suffixes and how these can be added to words to enhance their meaning.

Our class also began to review of parts of speech and applied our understanding to sentences using the Montessori grammar symbols. We focused on nouns, adjectives and verbs.

We completed our last calendar of the school year. Students had free choice in how they wanted to decorate it.

In geometry we learned about the vocabulary "faces, edges and vertices" through building and recording. Ask your child what the difference is between 2D and 3D shapes, as well as what these vocabulary words mean!

In other mathematics we began learning about coding using Dash and Dot robots! Earlier this year we learned how to "code humans" through procedural writing but using robots is a whole new experience for most students!

In financial literacy we started to create our own "Spend, Save, Share" sketchbook page.

In Science we continued learning about energy, specifically sound energy!

Tuesday was our last Tea Time Tuesday of the year and mugs were sent home. I hope your child enjoyed participating this year!

Have a great weekend,

Ms. Greenhall
