Hello families,
This week was a great one! We had Sports Day on Friday which was filled with fun games and ended with a teacher vs grade 6 kickball game!
We started learning about financial literacy as part of the new wellness and math curriculum. Ask your child what the names of the different coins are and their value!
In mathematics students completed a measurement assessment. We also put on our detective hats and started a Math Mystery, one for each grade. Here are the video hooks for them:
In literacy we completed our last r-controlled vowel UFLI lesson: IR. It is hard to believe we have gone through most of the UFLI resource this year. Great work grade 1/2s.
We also moved into fictional writing, specifically stories. As a class we read the book Down the Hole and filled out a story map. We discussed how a great story always has one problem (or more) and a solution!
