June 2, 2023
Hello families,
This week we spent some time in the garden. The gardening club also planted a bunch of new plants. What a great way for hands on learning, mentorship, and connecting with nature! I can't wait to spend more time in the garden with our class.
In Science students continued to work on their research books or posters. They are looking great! As some students start to finish, next steps will include reviewing their work several times with their peers, and adult, and then completing a self reflection checklist.
In literacy we continued with our reader's theatre. I love all the team work I am seeing within the groups to sound out those tricky words!
Our spelling check-ins have been going great. Many students are getting their sight words down and have been doing well at responsibly practicing them during their Daily L.A. station.
Words of the Week
Our class explored lifestyle within Meteghan, Nova Scotia. In the tourist videos we watched, we saw the beautiful scenery of people hiking, boating, fishing, and exploring lighthouses!
