Hello families,
It was a short and fun packed week! As part of our class initiative to show kindness for Valentines Day, we created Valentines for a local seniors home. Throughout the week we discussed ways to be kind to older people such as actively listening and practicing patience. We also discussed the importance of practicing these skills with all people!
We read a variety of books about love, kindness, empathy, and perseverance.
Our class discussed "self love" and how we should show love to ourselves just as much as we do to others. We watched a very beautiful story about this and completed a self-reflection.
For our buddy Valentine we created friendship bracelets/ keychains!
We also made heart origami! It was something many students were very interested in learning about!
In math we continued practicing the stamp game to solve for number bonds and did our daily math stations. Student also completed some color by equations for Valentines!
During Daily L.A. some students read with their reading group in the library, while others listened to reading, played literacy games, or took part in word work.
We also celebrated the 100th day of school on Wednesday!

I've been receiving lots of little notes and kind wishes from students these past few weeks. I wanted to extend my gratitude of how great it has been teaching them this year. I look forward to the months ahead!
