Hello families,
This week we were introduced to some crawling friends... caterpillars! Students began their exploration by wonder mapping about their caterpillar. We then moved on to creating a "B" is for butterfly sketchbook page. This is where we will be including all of our butterfly exploration and facts.
In Social Studies grade 3s finished up their research on child rights activists Malala and Ryan Hreljec. Grade 2 students took part in small group sharing to extend their understanding of their chosen communities. They added any additional ideas into the Venn diagram with a pencil crayon.
We also finished off our National Geographic books by taking part in two peer feedback loops. This included swapping checklists and books with a peer, receiving and giving feedback, as well as implementing feedback. After the two feedback loops, students went through the success criteria independently, giving themselves a mark in each area.
Completed books are now on display for reading in our classroom. Excellent work room 5 students!
As both big projects are now done, students filled out an exit slip describing 2 things that they are proud of for their Geometrocity, and 2 things for their National Geographic book.
