Hello families,

This week we continued with our two large projects, Geometrocity and National Geographic Kids books. As these two tasks are parallel to ones we have done previously, students were asked to complete these independently. This allows for students to apply their learning, showcase their strengths, and for myself to see areas in which they can further develop their understanding and skills.

National Geographic Kids Books

Geometrocity

In Social Studies grade 3 students began their inquiry on the rights of a child by brainstorming what they think some of their rights are as a child in Canada today.

Grade 2 students finished taking jot notes on Saskatoon, our last community that we will be learning about. Students will finish the year by comparing and contrasting these communities based on their resources, landforms, wildlife, way of life, etc.

Take a look at our documentation board that we have been adding to throughout our learning.

Our nature kit this week is Grasslands. Students continued exploring these amazing artifacts through some familiar and unfamiliar thinking routines. We also continued our Indigenous learning within prairie communities, looking at their use of natural resources and animals.

Room 4 and 5 have their sharing assembly in June. We will be sharing current work with the school as well and creating a production with the theme "Peace". Ask your child what they decided to include in their peace train art!

Have a wonderful weekend,

Miss. Greenhall
