Hello room 5 families,

This week we explored graphing as well as place value. Students spent some time practicing with math materials such as the bead frames, base ten blocks, coloured bead bars, and their corresponding stamps. We will be continuing to practice these concepts over the next week or two. We also learned a new game called "Biggest Number" which practices place value.

In writing we have been looking at sentence structure, specifically capitals at the beginning, periods at the end, and underlining any words that may be spelled incorrectly.

During our Daily LA period, I have been completing reading and spelling assessments with students in hopes to set up targeted literacy groups over the next week or two.

In addition to our large sketchbooks, we also have small field journals to use outside and during field trips. We created nature names today which will be the cover of these journals. Here is mine!

Check out the great things students have been doing during responsible work choice!

Have a wonderful weekend!
